This is edition 52, and it is my final article for 2025. It is also the final written edition of The Hillsberg Report. What started as a New Year’s resolution turned into a full year of showing up every week, publishing on schedule, and learning in public. Which proves something important - New Year’s resolutions are actually possible to achieve. Shocking, I know. Please remain seated.
Building this newsletter has been one of the most rewarding projects I have ever taken on. I love learning, and writing has always been my way of turning jumbled thoughts into clarity. But it also took a significant portion of my time each week.
As a result, my focus is shifting in 2026. I am working on building my own software, with an ambitious long term goal of becoming the first one person billion dollar company. That will not happen next year, or anytime soon (if at all), but the pursuit itself is the point. I will be documenting the process weekly in 2026 and sharing what I learn along the way. That content will likely live on YouTube, and I will send an email early in 2026 if you want to follow along.
This does mean the weekly newsletter is coming to an end. However, I want to point you toward a couple of newsletters that played a huge role in shaping The Hillsberg Report. The first is TLDR, which is actually a family of newsletters covering tech, markets, crypto, and more. They are concise, well written, and consistently useful. The second is Fix the News, which is where many of the positive stories came from this year. The rhetoric leans left politically, but with first principles thinking, there is a lot of genuinely encouraging signal to extract amidst the noise.
Thank you to everyone who read, shared, and interacted with me throughout 2025. Your attention is the most valuable thing you have, and I never took that lightly. I am excited to close this chapter knowing it was finished intentionally. I am even more excited about what comes next. Here is to being even more productive in 2026 🍻.
